Job Description

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NQF7) Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, or Reliability (advantageous) Valid SA Drivers License Experience & Skills: 68 years experience in plant and HME operations Expertise in reliability engineering, condition monitoring, asset management Proficient in SAP, data analysis, and cost modelling Skilled in team leadership, change management, and project execution Key Responsibilities Safety, Health & Environment Lead and support safety audits, risk assessments, and action close-outs. Empowered to stop unsafe work and issue safety instructions on-site. Promote a proactive safety culture across all operational levels. Reliability & Performance Define and implement reliability health programs and asset engineering strategies. Develop reliability block models and conduct RAMS analysis. Identify reliability improvements and optimise asset lifecycle strategies. Asset Management Maintain and review asset registers, tactics, and maintenance plans (SAP). Develop 12-month and 5-year forecasts for CAPEX and OPEX budgeting. Manage lifecycle costing and replacement planning for critical assets. Operational Readiness & Shutdown Strategy Support readiness planning for new assets and shutdown scopes. Provide input on CAPEX/OPEX for operational and shutdown requirements. Goods & Services Oversight Develop and audit spare part preservation, quality assurance, and stock forecasts. Coordinate part procurement and manage critical and rotable spares. Change & Configuration Management Support engineering change processes and master data updates. Maintain configuration management and ensure compliance through auditing. Asset Health & Integrity Implement automated health monitoring systems. Use condition monitoring data to drive maintenance decisions. Manage asset integrity programs for mobile equipment. Performance Monitoring Track KPIs, statutory inspections, and corrective maintenance compliance. Conduct RCA investigations and manage defect elimination processes. Team & Leadership Mentor and coach team members, manage staffing needs, and enforce standards. Support career development and talent retention strategies. Budget & Cost Control Ensure alignment with operational budgets and cost-control measures. Recommend cost-saving initiatives and approve budget adjustments
