Data Scientist - SQL/Python

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Data Scientist to join our growing team. In this role, you will apply your strong programming skills (Python and SQL), statistical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities to extract valuable insights from complex datasets. You will develop and implement machine learning models, conduct statistical analyses, and create data visualizations to support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, or a related field, and a passion for turning data into actionable intelligence. Responsibilities : Data Analysis and Modeling : - Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve business problems. - Conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to identify trends and patterns in data. - Build and evaluate predictive models to forecast future outcomes. - Perform data mining and feature engineering to extract relevant information from datasets. Data Extraction and Manipulation : - Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources using SQL and Python. - Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data processing. - Ensure data quality and consistency. Data Visualization and Reporting : - Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders. - Prepare and present reports and findings to technical and non-technical audiences. - Develop and maintain documentation for data analysis and modeling processes. Collaboration and Communication : - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business analysts. - Communicate complex data concepts clearly and concisely. - Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of data-driven solutions. Research and Development : - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning. - Research and evaluate new tools and techniques. - Contribute to the development of innovative data science solutions. Problem Solving and Critical Thinking : - Identify and define business problems that can be addressed through data analysis. - Develop and implement creative solutions to complex data challenges. Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions. Qualifications : Education : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience : - 5-8 years of relevant experience in data science, machine learning, or data analysis. - Proven experience in developing and implementing machine learning models. - Strong experience in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Python. Technical Skills : - Expert proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). - Strong proficiency in SQL and database management. - Knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques. - Experience with data visualization tools (e., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn). - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Soft Skills : - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to learn and adapt quickly. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with specific industry domains (e., finance, healthcare, e-commerce). - Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision. - Experience with big data technologies (e., Spark, Hadoop). - Relevant certifications in data science or machine learning. - Experience with deploying machine learning models to production (ref:hirist.tech)
