Application Developer - .Net/VB

Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and motivated VB.Net Application Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality software applications using VB.Net. You will also play a crucial role in managing and resolving support tickets related to these applications, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime. Responsibilities : Application Development : - Design, develop, and implement software applications using VB.Net. - Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. - Develop and maintain database interactions using SQL Server or other relevant databases. - Create and maintain user interfaces and reports. - Collaborate with team members to develop and integrate software components. - Follow coding standards and best practices. Testing and Deployment : - Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and system tests. - Debug and troubleshoot application issues. - Prepare and deploy software releases to production environments. - Ensure application stability and performance. Ticket Handling and Support : - Manage and resolve support tickets related to VB.Net applications. - Analyze and troubleshoot application issues reported by users. - Provide timely and effective solutions to user problems. - Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions. - Maintain a knowledge base of common issues and solutions. Database Management : - Design and implement database schemas and queries. - Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity. - Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Documentation : - Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and release notes. - Document code changes and updates. - Maintain accurate records of support tickets and resolutions. Collaboration and Communication : - Collaborate with team members, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions. - Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely. - Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Continuous Learning : - Stay up-to-date with the latest VB.Net technologies and best practices. - Research and evaluate new tools and technologies. - Participate in training and professional development activities. Qualifications : Education : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience : - 3 to 5 years of experience in VB.Net application development. - Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying VB.Net applications. - Experience with SQL Server or other relevant databases. - Experience with ticket handling and support. Technical Skills : - Strong proficiency in VB.Net programming. - Experience with .NET Framework or .NET Core. - Knowledge of SQL and database management. - Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) (a plus). - Experience with version control systems (e., Git). - Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC). Soft Skills : - Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
