Java Developer - Generative AI

Job Description : We are looking for a highly motivated Java Developer with a keen interest and hands-on experience in Generative AI (GenAI). The ideal candidate will combine strong Java backend development skills with the ability to integrate and build AI-powered solutions. You will work on developing scalable applications and embedding AI features using modern frameworks and APIs. Key Responsibilities : - Design and develop Java-based backend applications and APIs. - Integrate GenAI models and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, Google Vertex AI) into Java applications. - Build intelligent features such as chatbots, recommendation engines, and document summarizers using LLMs. - Collaborate with data science/ML teams to fine-tune and deploy models. - Work with RESTful APIs and microservices in a cloud-native environment. - Write clean, maintainable, and testable code. - Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning. - Stay up to date with the latest in AI/ML trends and Java technologies. Key Skills Required : Java / Backend Development : - Strong experience in Java (Spring Boot, REST APIs) - Understanding of microservices architecture - Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) GenAI / Machine Learning Integration : - Familiarity with LLMs and GenAI APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) - Experience integrating AI APIs into web or enterprise apps - Basic understanding of NLP, embeddings, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS) Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with Python for ML/AI scripting - Exposure to frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex - Experience with chatbot platforms and conversational AI - Understanding of prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs (ref:hirist.tech)
