Principal Engineer - Communication Systems We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in the development of Next Generation Missions and Technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. We undertake research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRTs product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground-launched stand-off autonomous system. What We Are Looking For The communication team at NRT is a horizontal that caters to the requirements of all other engineering teams. The team is also involved in R&D for exploration of newer technologies and proof-of-concept implementations, to adopt and enhance the latest state of technology across projects. We are looking for an experienced leader who has had a rich career in solving complex problems and developing solutions related to communications and networking. The Candidate Must Have : - A broad understanding of all the following verticals (shown below), in addition to - Expertise in systems engineering and - Expertise in at least one of the other verticals. Roles And Responsibilities : - Architect, design and develop communication technologies for different classes of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) - Exploration of COTS devices and status-quo - Explore and develop new technologies of all performance categories for implementation in UAS communication systems - Design, implement and optimize wireless links and communication networks - Define Requirements across various communication disciplines, including but not limited to Wireless technologies Communication networks - Threat assessment and information security - Simulation tools including Hardware in the loop (HIL) and Software in the loop (SIL) simulations Computational Electromagnetics - EMI/ EMC analysis Manage Operations, Establish Tools and Processes: - Definition, establishment and enforcement of standard operating procedures and best-practices across the team - Specific and general requirements capture, creation of tasks and monitoring the tasks up to completion - Drive timely and regular preparation of associated documentation of all processes and tasks for company records and design Qualification : - Bachelors in Communication Engineering (or equivalent) is required - Masters or higher should be in the same or related field Experience : - At least 12-15 years of total experience is necessary. Having prior experience in leading technical teams working on wireless communication systems, networks and associated technologies, is preferred.
