PostGIS Developer - QGIS/ArcGIS

Skills : - Hands on experience in geospatial data formats such as Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, and WKT. - Strong knowledge of spatial databases, geospatial concepts, and coordinate systems - Proficiency in PostgreSQL database management, administration, and optimization. - Hands-on experience with GIS software, such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or open-source GIS tools. - Experience in data migration, ETL processes, and handling large spatial datasets. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Good-to-Have : - Understanding of ESRI technology stack and its integration with PostGIS - Telecom domain with Orchestration and Fulfilment domain knowledge - Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills - Analytical Ability and Problem-Solving Skills Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role : - Design, develop, and maintain spatial databases using PostGIS on PostgreSQL. - Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries and PostGIS spatial functions. - Perform spatial data analysis, transformation, and validation to support GIS and database operations. - Develop and manage database scripts, stored procedures, and triggers for geospatial processing. - Integrate PostGIS with GIS applications with ArcGIS, or custom WebGIS solutions. - Support the development and implementation of GIS-based solutions, including spatial data visualization and analysis. - Collaborate with software developers and GIS analysts to implement geospatial services in web and mobile applications. - Perform data quality assurance and ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of spatial data. - Create and maintain technical documentation for database architecture, processes, and best practices. - Assist with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and spatial indexing for optimal performance. - Stay updated on PostGIS advancements and GIS trends to propose and implement innovative solutions (ref:hirist.tech)
