Data Engineer - ETL/Amazon Athena

Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Pune Experience: 5 years Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in SQL Server and AWS-based cloud data solutions. This role involves optimizing existing databases, setting up a high-performance reporting database, and leading the transition to a modern cloud data infrastructure. Key Objectives: - Optimize SQL Server Improve performance, implement governance, and ensure data quality. - Setup Reporting Database Build a scalable database for analytics and reporting. - Support Existing Systems Work with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server jobs. Long-Term Objectives: - Cloud Data Warehousing (AWS) Implement solutions using AWS Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, and S3. - Data Governance & Security Enforce policies, ensure compliance, and secure cloud data. - Performance Optimization Monitor and optimize on-prem and cloud-based systems. - Collaboration & Leadership Work with stakeholders, mentor junior engineers. Required Skills & Qualifications: - SQL Server Expert Including replication, SSIS, SSRS, ETL/ELT, and performance tuning. - AWS Data Engineering Hands-on with AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, and S3. - Data Governance & Security Strong understanding of frameworks and compliance. - Soft Skills Analytical, problem-solving, and excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in database migration to cloud platforms. - Familiarity with Power BI or visualization tools. - Knowledge of Big Data & real-time processing. - AWS Data Engineering certification is a plus.
