About the Job : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Shopify Developer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving the technical evolution and optimization of our Shopify platform. You will leverage your deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, coupled with your exposure to Java, microservices, system integration designs, and architectural principles, to tackle complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will not only be a hands-on developer but also someone who can think strategically, communicate effectively, and provide technical guidance. Preference will be given to candidates working within the EST time zone to facilitate seamless collaboration with our : - GraphQL Migration Expertise : Lead the migration of our AEO Shopify instance from REST APIs to GraphQL, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption. This includes understanding the intricacies of both API architectures, developing the migration strategy, executing the implementation, and collaborating effectively with AEO resources (engineers, etc.) to ensure successful completion. You will be responsible for clear and consistent communication regarding project progress and any roadblocks encountered. - Analytics and Attribution Troubleshooting : Investigate and resolve data anomalies within our marketing analytics pipeline for Todd Snyder, specifically addressing discrepancies between Shopify, Google Analytics, and BigQuery. This requires a strong understanding of how these platforms integrate, identifying potential sources of bot traffic or misattribution, and implementing effective solutions to ensure accurate data reporting. - Shopify Platform Mastery : Utilize your comprehensive knowledge of the Shopify platform, including its backend functionalities, APIs, and analytics capabilities, to provide expert support and drive platform improvements. - Proof of Concept Development : Translate business requirements into tangible demonstrations by performing light configurations within the Shopify environment to create proof-of-concepts. A key example would be the configuration and showcasing of BOPIS (Buy Online Pickup In Store) functionality to stakeholders. - System Integration and Architecture : Apply your understanding of system integration designs and architectural principles to ensure seamless connectivity between Shopify and other enterprise systems, potentially involving microservices built with Java. - Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, analytics, and engineering, to understand their needs and provide effective technical solutions. Maintain clear and proactive communication regarding project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions. - Technical Leadership : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. - Staying Current : Continuously stay updated with the latest Shopify developments, industry best practices, and emerging : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Shopify Developer, with a significant portion in a senior role. - Proven experience with Shopify's APIs (both REST and GraphQL) and a strong understanding of API integration principles. - Solid understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid). - Exposure to and understanding of Java and microservices architecture. - Experience with data analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and data warehousing solutions like BigQuery. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. - Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). - Familiarity with agile development methodologies. - Preference for candidates working within the EST time Points : - Experience with other e-commerce platforms. - Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). - Contributions to open-source projects or the Shopify developer community.
