Environmental Assessment Practitioner

Purpose of the role: To manage complex Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of private sector EIA experience in South Africa, with expertise in large-scale projects, preferably in renewable energy. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and quality control skills are essential, along with a commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility across Africa. Key Responsibilities: - Overseeing ES Team Project Portfolio - Managing project timelines, quality control, deliverables, and budgets - Ensuring client satisfaction and upholding brand standards - Preparing fee proposals, tenders, and scopes of work - Tracking costs and ensuring company registration on strategic tender databases - Leading Environmental Services Team, Bird & Bat Monitoring, and SDOD Team - Ensuring team registration with SACNASP and EAPASA - Driving operational efficiencies and process improvements - Expanding ecological assessment and monitoring services - Developing new product offerings within Environmental Services - Strengthening client relations and strategic partnerships - Developing and implementing environmental training programs - Representing the company at industry forums (IAIA, etc.) - Enhancing company brand presence and visibility - Assisting with project recruitment and development - Providing logistical and operational support across company functions Key Skills & Expertise Educational: Degree: [Relevant Environmental Science/Management Qualification] Professional Memberships: EAPASA, SACNASP is preferred Technical Expertise - Project Management and Permitting of large-scale EIA projects - Project Management of large-scale ECO projects - Environmental Auditing - Environmental Management Programmes - Environmental Construction Management - Equator Principles - In-depth knowledge of SEMA regulations - Regenerative design principles - Renewable energy sector expertise Leadership & Management - People Management - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Additional Requirements - Fluency in English - Valid passport for business related travel
