Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg - $2,160 to $2,268 per week in Rockford, IL

Unit Overview: This Med/Surg unit specializes in caring for medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients . RNs on this unit provide comprehensive post-op care for ortho cases, manage general medical admissions, and support patients throughout their recovery and discharge planning. Job Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to a mixed patient population, including orthopedic and general med/surg cases Perform head-to-toe assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient condition Administer medications, wound care, IV therapy, and post-op pain management Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, case management, and surgical teams Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, and recovery expectations Chart accurately in the facility’s EMR system Maintain infection control, fall prevention, and patient safety practices at all times ✅ Requirements: 2–3 years of recent Med/Surg or Ortho RN experience – Required Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact license) – Required BLS (AHA) – Required ACLS – Preferred Must live 50 miles from the facility for travel eligibility
