Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,300 per week

ProKatchers is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Akron, Ohio. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description: This is a 28-bed MS unit that provides 24 hours a day, 7 day a week nursing care to geriatric patients, age 65 and older who require inpatient acute care needs or need close observation and testing. Overflow Medical and/or Surgical patients are also placed on the unit. The unit focuses on four core features known as the “4Ms.” These core features are evidence-based and form the foundation for age-friendly care. The 4Ms – What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility – guide our interdisciplinary team in organizing care and focusing on the older adult’s wellness and strengths rather than solely on medical diagnoses. The team incorporates the 4Ms into existing care and deploys resources intended to prevent functional decline while addressing acute medical needs. Patients on the unit present with a variety of medical diagnoses such as GIB, UTI, trauma, infection, pneumonia, CHF, change in mental status and failure to thrive. Ratios range from 1:5/6. Required Qualifications: 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
