Job Description

The Director of Accounting will oversee all accounting functions within the organization. This role ensures the integrity of accounting information by managing the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of best practices in accounting processes. The Director of Accounting will lead a team of accounting professionals, providing strategic direction and support to achieve the company’s financial objectives.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax laws, and other relevant legislation.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring all financial practices and documentation are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial statement reliability.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive team on strategic financial planning and decision-making.
  • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal liquidity to meet the company’s financial obligations and investment needs.
  • Leverage accounting software and other technologies to streamline accounting processes and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification required. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Superior leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
