Long Hole Rig Operator (Mining)

The Long Hole Rig Operator is accountable for the safe operation, set-up and tramming of the HPS H80 LHR, achieving established daily operational targets, give training, record prescribed operational data and reports, ensuring maintenance of rig and related HPS equipment. Job Vacancy Description (Tasks and Responsibilities) Maintains Safety, Health and Environmental practices according to standards and procedures Performing proper machine setup procedures. Carries out a pre-use inspection by using a checklist and physically testing the equipment Drill required holes using the H80 LHR according to set standards and procedures, diagnoses problem areas and reports any safety concerns. Maintains and performs repairs on equipment according to standards and procedures e.g., replace mechanical and electrical components, scheduled planned maintenance, fault finding. Operating H80 LHR to drill long hole holes as per drill design Performs end of shift procedures Performs any other activities as per instruction necessary for the effective completion of his work Candidate Requirements (Skills and Experience) Matriculated with a recognized Blasting Certificate Drill Rig Certificate is essential. At least 5 years experience as a Long hole Rig Operator Medically fit for the position and environment Good English communication skills Computer literate
