Supervisor - Packing

Job Summary Supervisor seed machine packaging is a key position in plant operation, The job holder is responsible to control the quality and quantity of Packaging of seed. Therefore the job holder is required to obtain a good knowledge of seed Packaging and be informed of the up to date technology, hence the incumbent be able to Implement all related seed Packaging activities, manage work in ERP system, plan and manage manpower and provide timely feedback and information to key stakeholders. Roles and Responsibilities Seed Machine Packing Operations : Ensuring packing planning & Execution , managing and control of seed Packaging with quality and quantity of seeds as per quality standards. Based on the annual seed packing volume target of the country & Export packing , prepares the operational and manpower plan and execution to achieve the target. Inform the direct manager and QA department for any issue related to seed quality while performing packaging jobs. Maintain and understand all SOP, WI and Annex of respective functions and inform the line manager and document controller for any kind of improvement. Provide packing training to subordinates and technicians. Ensures correctness of Packed Pkts , Bags ( weight, Sealing , Photo labels & TL Information ) Follow Up with the maintenance team for timely corrective and preventive maintenance. Make sure that all the machines are properly cleaned before initiating a new job to avoid the chance of mechanical admixture. 2 . Process Improvement : Keeps track of the process improvements that are being mandated by the Group Seed Operations Management and ensures that the country is able to align and implement accordingly. Reviews the current work processes and provides recommendations for improvement to Group Seed Operations Management. Keeps abreast of new trends, practices, and technologies in seed operations and identifies ideas that may apply to East-West Seed. 3.Data Management and Reporting : Make sure all the jobs are well maintained in ERP system and ensure 100% data integrity in the assigned function Keep a proper record on non-ERP system activities and report to the line manager. Prepares, reviews and submits the reports needed by line manager on a regular basis based on agreed timelines. Keeps an organized and updated records management of the department’s files. 4. Safety Management : Implements and communicates the safety policies and program of the company. Ensures that the work environment (including equipment, processes, availability of personal protective equipment ) is generally safe at all times. Trains team members on safety guidelines and ensures strict observance. Ensure everybody follows safety procedures while in the working area. Make sure all workers in the team are fully aware of the safety measures in place and time to time arrange safety training for team members. Report line manager for any kind of incidence which is related to safety. Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience , Skills) Bachelor’s in Science/ Agriculture/equivalent , Diploma/degree in Agriculture Engg, Mechanical Engg or Equivalent More than 3-5 years of work experience in the seed industry or similar industry Adequate experience and knowledge about seed Packaging machines and principles of seed seed packaging. Well versed in plant-related activities and operational matters related to Seed packaging ( Seeds & Non seeds ) Experience in ERP system eg ABS, SAP, MS Dynamics etc Ability to adapt to changing environment/ situation needs.
