You will be instrumental in defining and delivering the foundational services, tools, and infrastructure that empower our engineering teams to build and scale innovative products efficiently and reliably. With at least 5 years of product management experience, you possess a strong technical understanding, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with data engineering, data science, product, mle, business, incident management and other stakeholders. You will be the voice of our internal customers (engineering teams) and will champion their needs to ensure our platform enables their success. Responsibilities: Platform Vision and Strategy: Define and articulate a clear and compelling vision, strategy, and roadmap for our core technology platform, aligning with the overall business and leadership objectives and anticipating future needs. Internal Customer Focus: Deeply understand the needs and pain points of our engineering teams, acting as their advocate and ensuring the platform effectively addresses their requirements. Product Discovery and Definition: Conduct thorough research, gather requirements, and analyze data to identify opportunities and define platform product features and capabilities. Roadmap Prioritization and Management: Develop and maintain a prioritized platform roadmap, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals, and effectively communicating priorities to stakeholders. Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong working relationships with engineering leaders, architects, incident response, security, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery. Technical Understanding: Possess a strong understanding of modern infrastructure, cloud technologies (GCP in our case), terraform, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, automation strategies, and platform engineering best practices. Product Specifications and Documentation: Create clear and concise product specifications, user stories, and other documentation to guide the engineering team. Release Management and Go-to-Market (Internal): Plan and execute the release of new platform features and capabilities, ensuring effective communication and adoption within the engineering organization. Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Define and track key platform metrics, analyze performance, and identify areas for improvement. Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in platform engineering. Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate platform strategy, progress, and challenges to various stakeholders, including leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of product management experience, with a significant focus on platform products, developer tools, or infrastructure services. Proven ability to define and deliver successful platform products from concept to launch. Strong technical acumen and the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts with engineers. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams. Experience working in an agile development environment. Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and services. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and observability tools is highly desirable.
