Job Description

RINA is currently recruiting for a Electronic Engineer to join its team in Firenze within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division. Mission The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design of new hardware by analysing requirements, designing the architecture, performing HDL design, simulation, testing and debugging for final design validation, contributing to technical project documentation. Key Accountabilities Critically analyse FPGA architecture according to customer requirements and documentation. Translate high level system requirements into FPGA requirements; implement and integrate FPGA designs at the hardware board level. Code using VHDL - VHSIC (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit) Hardware Description Language for reliability and maintainability. Create FPGA IP to increase code reusability. Develop strategies for testing and verifying FPGA functionality; collect FPGA metrics to validate the developed functionality and the integration of the IPs with other modules. Document the work, both for the coding part and for the validation and verification part. Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, project milestone reports and assist with project reviews. Education Master’s Degree in Electronics or Engineering General. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of one, or more, of the following skills: Familiarity with hardware architecture and design, signal processing algorithms, high-speed digital design techniques, communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, Flexray, SPI, I2C, RS422, MIL-STD-1553), and FPGA verification methodologies. Knowledge in FPGA debugging techniques, power analysis and optimisation, FPGA security implementation, cryptographic algorithm implementation, FPGA component selection and evaluation. Proficiency in master CAD tools (e.g. Spice, Saber, Altium) and/or schematic tools (e.g. Cadence, Mentor) will be a distinct advantage. Competences in power integrity/signal integrity and circuit simulation tools (e.g. LTspice). Knowledge in analog signal measurements (spectrum analyzer, power peak detector, oscilloscope). Cross-field experience and previous experience in similar roles will be positively evaluated. Knowledge of office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is mandatory. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is mandatory. Competencies ADDRESS THE WAY - Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way.
