Job Description

DESCRIPTION: A Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures within an organization. Duties may include developing preparation of Customer First Article Reports, coordinating internal and external Non-Conforming Parts Management Processes (MRB/RMA), managing plant tooling calibration programs, assisting in the development and documentation of quality control processes, compiling data, generating reports, analyzing data, and implementing improvements to enhance product or service quality. This position works cross-functionally and requires strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills essential for this role. Typically performs only one of areas identified below. Performs additional tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

FIRST ARTICLE (FAIR):

Manages and coordinates activities related to preparation and submission of the customer first article report process

  • Reviews customer drawings, associated specifications, and standards in preparation of FAIR reports
  • Prepares First Article Reports conforming to customer and company standards by reviewing and documenting inspection results throughout the supply chain.
  • Reviews inspection results, communicates findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with suppliers, quality control teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that initial samples meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

MRB / RMA:

Manages and coordinates administration and disposition of internal (MRB) and external (RMA) non-conforming products using defined processes.

  • Compile quality (internal and customer) information and communicate results to management.
  • Generate reports from internal databases, distribute reports to various users and/or summarize the data in spreadsheets for management.
  • Be the voice of Quality regarding the hold/rework/stock check process.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular MRB meetings and document results.
  • Participates in projects aimed at improving quality assurance practices and improved quality objectives.
  • Provide suggested update to Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions when changes are needed or to improve the understanding of the document or process.
  • Creates and maintains metric related to process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, company policy and accepted safe work practices. Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Tooling Calibration:

Manages and coordinates administration and execution of Plant Tooling Calibration Program.

  • Maintains the calibration recall list and communicates status to department supervisors / managers.
  • Coordinates the delivery and receipt of tools delivered to the outside calibration house.
  • Receives and enters new tooling into the calibration system.
  • Publishes the tooling calibration schedule weekly.
  • Coordinates repair and replacement of out of calibration tooling.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, and basic GD&T preferred.
  • Use of basic inspection tools to perform measurements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • 1-3 years’ experience as a quality coordinator or related quality role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify finish defects.
  • Able to hear and understand spoken directions.
  • Able to hear warning bells, tones, and alarms (e.g., forklift, horn, telephone, etc.)

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

  • Occasional high noise levels from operating machines
  • Occasional physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Occasional breathing fumes, odors, dust, and mist
  • Occasional skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
  • The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit) in the shop floor area.



Compensation details: 25-30 Hourly Wage
