Job Description

People First is currently searching for a Chief Information Officer to lead our IT department and steer our technology strategy. As the CIO, your primary responsibility will be to establish the vision and direction for all technology-related initiatives within the credit union. You will collaborate closely with other executives to ensure that our technology goals align with business objectives and that our systems and processes are secure, efficient, and effective.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

· Developing and implementing a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with business goals.

· Manage the IT budget and ensure that resources are allocated appropriately.

· Overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of all technology systems and applications.

· Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance member experiences, streamline processes, and optimize operational efficiency. Identify and implement innovative technologies and solutions, such as online and mobile banking, digital payments, and automation, to improve member engagement and satisfaction.

· Ensure that our technology infrastructure is secure, resilient, and compliant with all relevant regulations.

· Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as data privacy, data protection, and financial industry regulations.

· Develop and implement robust information security strategies, practices, and controls to protect member data, systems, and digital assets. Stay updated on emerging threats, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to cybersecurity. Facilitate risk assessments and coordinate incident response activities as needed.

· Leading a team of IT professionals and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a senior IT leadership role, with experience in the financial services industry required. You should have a deep understanding of IT strategy, architecture, and operations and expertise in cybersecurity and risk management.




Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in driving digital transformation, including implementing and integrating new technologies and solutions.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience. (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of ten years of Information Technology and leadership experience in a Credit Union or similar financial institution.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and applicable policies and standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit, stand, twist, turn, bend, stoop, kneel, push/pull.
  • Repetitive movement of wrist, neck, and fingers.
  • Reaching above the head. Climbing when needed (step ladder).
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • General office setting

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to branch locations, and/or attending seminars.
