SUMMARY

Identify markets, develop strategy, execute sales plans, manage accounts and all sales activities for TSE's new line of THANECAST® prepolymers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leverage existing knowledge of the castable polyurethanes industry, products, markets, competition, major users, applications, to identify new opportunities and launch TSE's Plastics Industrial Sales of EPD and Duro-Glide business.

  • Define target markets according to TSE's strengths and competitive advantages
  • Assist with product positioning and branding. Assess market needs and determine what must be done to meet those needs.
  • Assist with development of a Business Plan for the THANECAST line. Work with VP of Sales and R&D to develop strategic and operational plans for meeting growth objectives.
  • Work with VP of Sales to develop and execute an effective Sales Strategy for assigned products, regions and markets.
  • Identify and contact target accounts. Initiate product evaluations, coordinate internal efforts, gain qualification and secure new business.
  • Drive and coordinate the entire sales cycle, from initial customer engagement, to product information, to sampling and evaluation, to ensuring product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to customers as needed to develop and maintain sales relationships, provide customer support, and grow TSE's position in the market. Report on customer interactions as directed by VP Sales.
  • Provide feedback on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver more value to customers by improving and expanding TSE's offerings.
  • Provide a basic level of field technical support, combining past training and experience with internal TSE resources, to resolve customer problems.
  • Negotiate customer prices and sales contracts, as directed by VP of Sales.
  • Represent TSE Industries in the castable polyurethanes industry. Recommend and participate in industry events as approved by VP of Sales.
  • Assist with sales demand forecasting and budgets.
  • Help to establish and optimize product inventories to support sales needs
  • Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Establish TSE as a respected supplier to the castable PU industry.

Requirements:

SAFETY TRAINING To perform this job successfully, an individual must complete and maintain Safety Training according to the Safety Training Matrix.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in chemical engineering or chemistry is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive technical sales experience in the cast polyurethane industry
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and grow sales
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel nationally at least 50%
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Must have letter-writing skills for correspondence with distributors/customers and/or internal communication.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Logic and reasoning skills to coordinate orders with production. Must have ability to plan and expedite orders for shipping.
