Job Description

Downtown Oklahoma City branch of a National Law Firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for the growing Oil and Gas Energy practice area. The position is permanent, Non-Exempt, and require Onsite presence at the Oklahoma City office 5 days a week. The position will be supporting two attorneys in the energy sector. Experience required: Associates degree or Paralegal Certificate with 4 years of litigation paralegal experience and trial experience. Requires excellent PC/Adobe skills, document production, preparing/proofreading court filings/exhibits, summarizing depositions, and preparing mediations.

Litigation Paralegal for Energy Law

Salary range: $60-85k range DOE

PTO – 30 days per year + 11 firm paid holidays

Work Schedule –M-F 9:00 – 6:00 pm w/ 1 hour lunch- 40 hours, plus OT as needed

Onsite Presence Required: 5 days in office

Billing requirement – 1400 hours

Bonus structure:

1400 billable hours: Bonus begins at $2,500 for hitting the 1400 hours and increases by $500 every 50 hours over 1400.

Benefits package and 401k – Eligible for the majority of benefits on date of hire. Detailed packet would be included in conjunction w/ offer letter.

 Job Details

Attorney Support: 2 attorneys

Seeking a Litigation paralegal with prior trial experience and a minimum of (4) years of paralegal experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and summarize case related materials including document productions and case chronologies;

  • Assist with the preparation of court filings, including proofreading and assembling of exhibits and appendices;

  • Indexing, tracking, and controlling exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial;

  • Assist with reviewing documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria;

  • Summarizing depositions and other transcripts;

  • Working closely and directly with attorneys and clients during all phases of litigation; 

  • Prepare deposition, mediation and trial exhibits (electronically and paper form) for use by the case team;

  • Conduct internet research; and 

  • Provide excellent client service to all team members.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Annual billable hour requirement – 1,400

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Education:    

  • BA or BS degree strongly preferred.

  • Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate with a minimum of 3 years of professional services firm or in-house legal Department experience required.

Experience:

  • Three years of professional work experience (law firm, preferred). Previous work experience in a law firm or other client service environment is a plus.

  • Excellent PC skills, including but not limited to proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Experience with Adobe PRO/Nuance PDF.

  • Strong time management skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·         This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
