Job Description

New York City based Certified Public Accounting and Consulting firm with a Long Island and Florida presence that provides expert financial advisory to companies across a diverse range of industries. We offer a full range of integrated accounting, consulting and business management services from tax planning and audits to the most detailed analysis of acquisitions and financial restructuring.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Tax Senior in the Private Client group, you will be responsible for providing personalized tax advice, compliance, and planning services to high-net-worth individuals and families. You will collaborate closely with clients and other professionals within the firm to develop comprehensive tax strategies that align with their financial goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with clients to assess their financial situations, goals, and objectives.

  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, trust, foundation, and estate and gift tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.

  • Develop and implement personalized tax planning strategies that minimize tax liabilities while complying with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor in tax matters.

  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends that could impact clients' financial situations.

  • Conduct in-depth research to address complex tax issues and provide innovative solutions.

  • Collaborate with other tax professionals, including managers and partners, to deliver comprehensive client solutions. Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to address client inquiries and ensure accurate reporting.

  • Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and the implications of various financial decisions.

  • Calculate potential estate and gift tax liabilities and work within a team to recommend strategies to minimize these tax burdens.

  • Communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner to clients with varying levels of financial literacy.

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 + years of experience in tax planning and compliance, preferably within a private client or wealth management environment.

  • Strong understanding of individual, partnership, trust, estate, and gift taxation.

  • Familiarity with tax software and technology for efficient compliance and research.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building client relationships and working within a team.

  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex problems.

  • Commitment to staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Compensation:

  • Competitive annual salary in the range of $90,000 to $125,000 based on the individual’s experience level.
