Job Description:


BASIC PURPOSE: In support of the Mission of the University this position prepares financial statements for internal and external users. Collects and analyzes financial data, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance GAAP reporting guidelines. Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes recommendations regarding University policy.



ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.
  • Provide interim year-end projections/forecasts.
  • Update management regularly on budget variances and emerging trends.
  • Analyze financial performance and communicate results to management.
  • Prepare monthly flux analyses and budget reports, including detailed analysis for various budget categories.
  • Assists external auditors as needed.
  • Assists in preparation for year-end audit and annual budget process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes


  • Requirements:


  • Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption.
  • Certified Public Accountant (current or prior certification) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a finance role with non-profit accounting preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality required.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to be bonded required.
  • Strong Excel and Word computer skills required.
