Position Summary

NAL Research Corporation (NAL) is seeking a high-energy, detail oriented, Operations Manager.

NAL’s Operations Department is the company’s center of gravity for supply chain management, product manufacturing and quality control, order fulfillment, product repairs; all with a customer success mindset. The Operations Manager is responsible to lead the department to successfully execute these functions and meet company goals.

Key Performance Objectives in order of priority

Operations Excellence. Leads all aspects of manufacturing and supply chain to 50% maximize delivery and productivity while minimizing cost.

Talant Management. Building and developing an operations team that 20% consistently delivers on short and long-term performance goals.

Continuous Improvement. Implement manufacturing best practices with the 10% goal of building a stronger and scalable organization that keeps pace with the market demand.

Cross Functional Collaboration. Fostering a culture of collaboration across 10% functions through modeling ideal behaviors and practices that ensure consistency throughout operations.

Note: Ten percent of time is reserved for ancillary activities, interruptions, and unplanned events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the company's manufacturing activities to ensure maximum effectiveness. Ensure Operations Department achieves company targets for
    1. Monthly, Quarterly, Financial Year order fulfillment financial targets.
    2. Reduction and efficiency in product Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
    3. Customer support timelines for products and services.
  • Direct and oversee the customer order fulfillment process for products, airtime, and back-end services.
  • Ensure products meet or exceed customer quality standards, cost targets and delivery expectations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Business Development/Sales to coordinate the production process, delivery of custom orders and for the introduction of new products.
  • Oversee Operations Department, procurement activities and negotiations of procurement contracts to provide proper cost, delivery, and quality commitments.
  • Proactively Plans Production rates and manpower needs to the most efficient outcomes based on the forecast. Participates in the Sales Inventory Operational Planning (SIOP) process.
  • Other duties as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Leads subordinate managers who supervise employees in the areas of production assembly (4) and Supply Chain (1).
  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Mentor and develop Operation and Supply Chain employees.

Required/Desired Knowledge, Experiences, and Skills:

  • Required:
    1. Bachelor of Engineering or Science Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or delivery of high technology products.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Process driven leader.
    • Team Player, hands on leader and possess a quality mindset.
    • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Desired:
    1. Ability to effectively translate knowledge of the defense industry and new technology trends into satellite solutions for customers.
    2. Excellent writing and communication skills with experience presenting to government and industry executive decision makers.
    3. Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is a plus.
    4. Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    5. Proven track record in meeting established goals with little to no supervision.

Salary Range is $115,000 to $130,000, annually.

PHYSICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work long hours and maintain a rigorous schedule on an as needed basis.




Compensation details: 115000-130000 Yearly Salary
