Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Furniture Operations process documentation while championing continuous improvement activities to improve processes and increase productivity.
  • Ensure that the performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Speed, Quality, and Accuracy.
  • Build the Jenni Kayne Furniture Operations team: recruit, hire, train and develop operations leadership
  • Responsible for managing inventory levels by conducting physical inventory counts ensuring accuracy and reconciling our ERP Netsuite.
  • Lead and develop Operations team through coaching, building skill sets and holding team accountable while being an active presence on the facility floor.
  • Develop close working partnerships with other functions to create transparency into input metrics and service levels to other Jenni Kayne departments (merchandising, production, retail, marketing).
  • Fulfillment Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive furniture fulfillment strategy that optimizes inventory management, delivery scheduling, and customer satisfaction.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the tracking, monitoring, and control of furniture inventory levels. Implement systems and processes for accurate and efficient inventory management.
  • Logistics and Shipping: Manage and streamline the transportation and shipping of furniture products, including coordination with carriers, warehousing partners, and delivery teams.
  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that furniture products meet our quality standards before shipping to customers.
  • Vendor Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with furniture suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely and efficient product sourcing and delivery.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to continually improve fulfillment operations. Analyze metrics to identify areas for optimization.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control operational costs, optimizing the budget allocation while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and all relevant legal requirements in the furniture industry.
  • Customer Experience: Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the fulfillment process, from order placement to delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, seeking innovative solutions and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 8+ years logistics and supply chain experience leading teams and a minimum of 5+ direct reports
  • Furniture Operations experience required with a deep understanding of Furniture Industry best practices including but not limited to Furniture Home Delivery, Packaging, Quality, and Repair
  • Proven leadership skills through solid coaching of employees and communication
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • APICS Certification CSCP or CPIM Preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent planning, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies; Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • NetSuite ERP experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and flexibility while working with all levels of the organization
  • Candidates who are bilingual (English and Spanish) are preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to perform physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs), and walking (up to 50% of the day).
  • Ability to maneuver through storage racks, trailers, and other areas of the warehouse.
  • Use carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other gear to move items around
  • Ability to work around moving machines such as order pickers and reach trucks.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment (i.e. exposed to hot, cold and changing temperatures, medium noise level not requiring protective equipment, and dust, dirt and changes in lighting)

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. The base salary is determined by experience, education, skills, and location.
