Job Overview

The Master Performance Fitter is responsible for facilitating a great customer experience for a product demo and/or fitting day from start to finish and building enthusiasm for our Company’s products. Incumbent may work an event with the Outside Sales Representative (“OSR”) or independently as directed by the above. The Master Performance Fitter will educate consumers on the features, advantages and benefits of Callaway Golf and Odyssey products at customer sponsored events. With the goal of betterment for our entire team, the Master Performance Fitter will train and motivate other Performance Fitters as assigned by sales management or attend special events as assigned. This is a part-time and seasonal position, with a varied schedule. Must be available to work scheduled weekdays including weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory. The typical event day is 5-6 hours on a Saturday or Sunday.

Roles & Responsibilities

Training

  • Train other Performance Fitters on the features and benefits of Callaway’s products, as well as how to best sell those products.
  • Train the pro staff on the Odyssey fits board and help sell and fit Odyssey putters as well as run short game/putter fitting events.
  • Utilize Callaway curriculum and facilitator’s guides to train other Performance Fitters on the Callaway fitting protocol, including how to fit with a Launch Monitor.
  • Attend and successfully complete all requirements related to Callaway Training events designed for the role including webinars, live instructor-led and online courses.
  • Learn about new product attributes and performance


Performance Fitter Team Scheduling

  • Work closely with OSR or Performance Representative to schedule events, which includes coordinating with other Performance Fitters in the territory, to ensure appropriate staffing level.


Fitting Day Events

Pre-Event:

  • Keep in close contact with event locations 3-4 weeks prior to events and ensure they have the signage displayed, have sent email blasts to members and have signups for fittings displayed
  • Contact event locations 1 week prior to event to confirm the date/time of event and confirm number of fittings scheduled.


Day of Event:

  • Support the goals of the Customer’s event and deliver a great consumer
  • Set up and take down all displays and equipment and ensure each event is uniform in set up per Callaway’s Product Fitting day protocol and for the fitting process.
  • Inventory and/or update Fit
  • Ensure that fitting carts, tents, wind blades and table skirts are present and presentable as well as up to date at each event.
  • Effectively communicate advantages of the full line of Callaway Golf products to
  • Conduct customer fittings using Callaway’s fitting protocol, launch monitor and other provided
  • Run and train on Odyssey Fits Tool and apply selling
  • Provide personalized product specifications to


Post-Event:

  • Report to OSR or Performance Representative with results and/or issues after each event and send copies of all fitting sheets in order to have a record for future inquiries and sales orders.
  • Ensure each Performance Fitter is an expert in the current product line features and
  • Manage and control the inventory of the Product Fitting day product as outlined by the OSR or Performance Representative.

Special Event:

  • Be available to handle VIP or weekday fittings for top customers and GG
  • Have availability to work, set up, and run tournaments and mobile pro shop events in a professional manner with the Outside Sales Representative or Performance Representative, including assisting in setting up RA # and returning extra product.


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • Golf knowledge, golf club fitting knowledge, as well as use of a launch monitor is
  • Successful completion of Certified Master Fitting Training at Carlsbad
  • Understanding of golf retail business (green grass or off-course)
  • Must be able to fully present the Callaway product line; knowledge of past Callaway products is
  • Successful completion of all Callaway University Product and Fitting Training Modules
  • Able to learn characteristics and distinguishing features and benefits of company products and fitting concepts required.
  • Must possess communication skills to present technical ideas and facts to a diverse audience of consumers and customers. Must present information in a manner consistent with Callaway standards.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of successful retail / golf shop selling experience preferred
  • Golf club fitting experience preferred
