Job Description

Your main duties will include but are not limited to: Manage the day-to-day accounting function, including capturing, reconciling, and maintaining accurate financial records. Perform the full banking function of the business payments, transfers, reconciliations, cash-flow monitoring, and related approvals. Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and commentary for management review. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, tracking performance against targets and highlighting variances. Attend to the completion and submission of statutory returns, including: VAT 201 returns and reconciliations Payroll (EMP201 and EMP501) submissions to SARS Other compliance returns as required Liaise with SARS, and other regulatory bodies as needed. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant legislation Support tax calculations and year-end procedures, including working papers and schedules. Monitor and improve financial processes, identifying efficiencies and ensuring sound internal controls. Daily tasks include: Daily accounting function and bank reconciliations for 2 accounts Monthly reporting to 4 Partners Daily sharing of receipts with the debtors department Loading of all payments for approval by a partner Controlling 2 email inboxes Cash flow forecasts Liaison between IT Supplier and Partner Submit ad-hoc other returns for the firm, i.e. annual WCA etc Maintaining the asset register and ensuring assets are insured Core Competencies Ability to work independently in order to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent time and priority management. Requirements Experience in bookkeeping up to trial balance and preparation and presentation of management reports to the directors Proficiency in e-filing Proficiency in MS Office with good working knowledge of spreadsheets. Proficiency in Greatsoft or similar bookkeeping software package highly advantageous Recognised B.Comm Accounting / Financial qualification.
