Senior Marine Engineer (Propulsion) with Security Clearance

Job Description
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. Responsibilities * Provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, to include, but not limited to: power supply and propulsion systems. * Research and develop ship propulsion systems, to include, but not limited to: diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements. * Develop system documentation and ship specifications. * Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard propulsion machinery * Review and develop technical data packages * Provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements * Conduct and oversee trade studies. * Provide knowledge of ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field * 6 years of experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components. * Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance * U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91,600.00/Yr. - USD $153,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
