Job Description

The CMT Data Platform and Analytics Team leads pricing analytics to optimize Amazon products' price perception and competitiveness. We seek a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to strengthen our data‑driven decision‑making processes. This position combines strategic planning with direct implementation. The role requires demonstrated analytical capabilities, proven experience with business intelligence solutions, and the ability to collaborate across CMT product teams. The BI Engineer will own complex reporting systems, develop automated solutions, and deliver actionable insights to drive business decisions. Candidates must navigate complex pricing programs independently, design and implement scalable BI solutions, partner with CMT and Retail teams to optimize reporting systems, and transform data into clear, actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate should work independently, quickly absorb the nuances of Amazon's varied pricing programs, and contribute effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Key Job Responsibilities Work closely with multiple CMT business, product/program teams to understand business drivers, data availability, and product challenges. This involves data gathering, manipulation, synthesis, modeling, and problem solving. Assist in developing key product metrics and performance indicators to measure overall business performance and product contributions. Build self‑service reporting platforms, establishing automated processes for large‑scale data analysis. Understand and write high‑quality queries to retrieve and analyze data for ongoing reporting and ad‑hoc requests. Manage the data infrastructure for the CMT central analytics team, deciding which data sources to leverage, and influence teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy. Own end‑to‑end data architecture for new product launches. Basic Qualifications 8 years of professional or military experience 5 years of SQL experience Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi‑TB) data sets Experience with the theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results Experience with AWS technologies Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills Experience with the theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining Preferred Qualifications Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
