About The Role Based in Milan, Lombardia, Italy, the Area General Manager will lead the management and development of an agreed portfolio of CBRE contracts, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded. What You’ll Do Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of contracts are exploited, to deliver increased turnover and profitability, ensure additional services and projects are added, and contracts are re‑won on re‑tender. Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within contracts. Ensure contracts provide a healthy and safe working environment and that both client and company health and safety policies are effectively implemented across CBRE and subcontractors’ activities. Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, taking direct responsibility for the appointment of contract managers and ensuring succession planning. Work with other Operational managers to develop the business collaboratively, support colleagues and maintain excellent teamwork. Develop financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduce WIP, debt, cost, and seek contract growth, ensuring targets are met and exceeded. Maintain a customer focus within all operational activities and sustain strong client relationships. Promote and uphold CBRE’s core values. Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to deliver best‑practice selection, training, assessment and reward. Support effective business communication through reviews, briefings, presentations, reporting and other publications. Support the sales process through solutions development and participation in presentations and mobilisation support for new contracts. Provide a learning environment and appropriate training and development planning, ensuring basic training needs are delivered. What You’ll Need Minimum seven years of relevant experience and/or training. Proven track record within the facilities management industry. Managerial experience at Contract / Account Manager level or above within technical and/or hard services. Experience in developing and reviewing teams, conducting appraisals and applying effective people‑management practice. Excellent motivational and influencing skills with high personal integrity. Organised, able to prioritise and deliver in high‑pressure, business‑critical environments. Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical delivery for client satisfaction. Strong understanding of health and safety legislation. Ability to gain trust and support from top‑level management and key client decision makers. Experienced client relationship manager. Strong financial skills. Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively. Good knowledge of English.
