Job Description
Overview Microwave team of the MW&CSN Business Unit provides Microwave transport solutions within Nokia; reference product family is Wavence. The role is for a Hardware development engineer specialized in mechanical and thermal domains. As a Hardware Engineer in Microwave R&D, you will contribute to product feature evolution and develop new hardware items to renew the product platform. HW is a relevant part of the Wavence product, and many feature differentiators relative to competition rely on HW-specific implementation. You will develop extensive knowledge of new telecommunications protocols and state-of-the-art standards, microwave specifics, Nokia’s hardware platforms, and how customers deploy them. You will contribute to developing innovative solutions addressing Nokia strategy in the 5G/6G domain and beyond. Responsibilities Requirement analysis and feasibility studies Define hardware architecture and select relevant technologies and components Hardware development and detailed design mainly focused on mechanical and thermal domains Hardware unit testing, qualification, and reporting Hardware project status reporting and tracking Hardware configuration management Contribute to process improvement and innovation Key Skills and Experience Profound theoretical knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and thermal domains Solid background in maths and physics from engineering university courses Knowledge of metallic and plastic materials structures and superficial treatments Knowledge of thermal modelling, simulations, analysis, and testing of electronic equipment Knowledge of technical drawing techniques and mechanical sketches Knowledge of 3D CAD systems Basic knowledge of production processes Fluent spoken and written English Good teamwork skills, adaptability, and accountability Ability to collaborate with people from different technical backgrounds and cultures Eager to learn and expand own knowledge About Nokia Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
