Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $1,196 to $1,794 per week in Tulsa, OK

Job Responsibilities: -Receives and processes specimens, components and/or requisitions: Receives, prioritizes, and processes specimens in a timely manner to meet or exceed turnaround time standards. -Verifies specimen identification and labeling. -Determines if specimen is acceptable for analysis. -Identifies discrepancies, resolves, and documents for quality assurance. -Willingly assists other employees in the department during times of high-volume testing. -BB Only: Determines if specimen collection is required. -Completes blood component transfusion utilization form. -Performs and documents blood component processing according to established procedures. -As requested, provides appropriate platelet and plasma components. -Documents special component needs in transfusion service information systems (TSIS). -Reviews and confirm recipient and donor information at the time of blood component issue. -Maintains adequate blood component inventory and uses the inventory effectively. -Performs testing according to established procedures: organizes work for maximum efficiency, maintaining efficiency during stressful situations. -Demonstrates knowledge of technical and instrumental procedures. -Performs testing according to established procedure. Identifies absurd results and repeats tests as needed. -Maintains a clean, uncluttered work area. Uses required personal protective equipment and physical barriers. -Works independently with minimal supervision and uses time efficiently when work is completed. -Reviews specimen logs for unreceived specimens. -BB Only: Performs patient and component testing according to established procedures. -Uses TSIS efficiently to record testing results and comments. -Reports accurate test.
