Class 2 Lorry Driver

Bela Recruitment is currently hiring a Class 2 Lorry Driver to work from a depot in Strabane, Northern Ireland. The Company This is a specialist plant hire company (not a typical hire company, they have only 4 key specialist product lines), they deliver large bits of equipment to construction sites around North West and Northern Ireland daily. Most equipment is loaded / unloaded using a Hiab Crane. Responsibilities Delivering equipment from the depot in Strabane, to customers across the North West & Northern Ireland, normally the maximum number of deliveries per day is 3-4, sometimes only 1-2. Also occassonial moving equipment between yards in Lisburn &/or Dublin. Loading and off-loading most items are done using a Hiab Crane on the front of the flatbed. Securing all loads correctly for transport & ensuring the lorry & driver complies with all road safety requirements. Ensuring any accessories are secured and delivered. Safely transport items and position them on the customer's site in the correct location. Ensuring delivery paperwork is signed. Working as part of a team with the depot engineer and sale rep. Ensure good Health & Safety and PPE is worn at all times. Good geographical knowledge of North West & NI, SatNav is provided. Must have the ability to professionally communicate at all times with colleagues, customers and members of the public. Virtually all Mon-Fri work, day shift hours. Requirements Must have a min 1-2 years Class 2 driving experience and ideally over 25 for insurance. Class 2 licence No more than 6 points Full CPC Training Hiab experience would be a big advantage, if not, must be willing & confident to learn and pass the test. Anyone with mechanical knowledge would be an advantage, but not essential. If there are no deliveries you could be helping with some light work in the workshop/yard, this breaks up the week from driving. Any drivers working for a normal tool hire company will find this job a breeze in comparison. No Saturday work, No Late Nights, no 20 drops per day!
