What You’ll Do As a Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, review, and integration of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational requirements. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and clients to develop reliable and cost-effective fire protection solutions throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for all topics related to fire protection systems within assigned projects. Develop and review fire protection system designs, including detection, suppression, and alarm systems. Ensure compliance with UK regulations, nuclear safety standards, and client-specific requirements. Coordinate and validate supplier documentation, ensuring quality, technical alignment, and timely delivery. Support fire risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety case documentation. Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure seamless system integration. Manage design changes, configuration control, and documentation updates throughout project execution. Participate in reviews, inspections, and testing activities to confirm performance and compliance. Who You Are Degree (or equivalent) in Fire Protection, Building Services, Mechanical, Safety, or related Engineering discipline. Experience in fire protection design and coordination for complex or regulated environments (nuclear, energy, defence, or large industrial facilities). Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and standards Understanding of nuclear safety culture and regulatory compliance.
