Electrical Test and Commissioning Engineer

Electrical Test and Commissioning Engineer Location: Leicestershire (onsite) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electromechanical Test & Commissioning Engineer to join a world-class power systems testing facility that supports the development of cutting-edge marine and energy technologies. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and specifying test systems, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, managing test operations, and analysing performance data to help deliver high-performance, safety-led power solutions. Key Responsibilities Carry out installation, commissioning, testing, fault finding, and maintenance of electromechanical systems, covering low to high voltage ranges. Design and assemble custom test panels or equipment as required by specific test scenarios, including panel wiring modifications. Perform preventative maintenance following OEM standards to ensure test systems remain fully operational. Manage and supervise subcontractors and suppliers during project activities. Ensure all plant and equipment are configured correctly and available for testing in accordance with operational procedures. Contribute to control room operations and data acquisition during test campaigns. Identify opportunities for process, tool, and system improvements and support their implementation. Maintain a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards at all times. Qualifications & Experience OND / HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Practical experience working with LV switchboards, transformers, variable speed drives, diesel generators, and automation systems. Training in EHS, First Aid, or electrical competence (e.g., Authorised Person certification) would be advantageous. Must be eligible for or able to obtain UK Security Clearance.
