Requirements Engineer – Advanced Weapon Systems Location: Hybrid, 2–4 days per week on-site (depending on project needs) Salary: Up to £55,000 (DOE) Clearance Requirement: British Citizen or Dual with British citizenship An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Requirements Engineer to join a world-leading defence technology organisation working on one of the UK’s most advanced weapon system programmes. This project is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in directed-energy technology and offers the chance to play a key role in developing next-generation, deployable defence capabilities. What’s on offer: Up to £2,500 annual company bonus (performance-based) Pension contributions up to 14% (combined employer/employee) Flexible working and hybrid arrangements Up to 15 additional flexi-leave days per year Enhanced parental leave policies Opportunities for paid overtime Excellent site facilities including subsidised meals and free parking The Role: You’ll play a critical part in the systems engineering lifecycle, focusing on defining, analysing and managing system requirements to ensure technical integrity and traceability across design, integration and verification. This is a high-visibility role within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment delivering cutting-edge capability to the UK defence sector. Key Responsibilities: Capture, analyse and manage system and subsystem requirements throughout the lifecycle Ensure requirement traceability from user needs through to design, test and validation stages Support system proving, design assurance and certification processes Collaborate closely with design authorities, customers and stakeholders to align requirements with technical and operational needs Conduct impact assessments, trade studies and configuration control related to requirement changes Communicate technical and non-technical information clearly across teams and stakeholders Support verification and validation activities to confirm system compliance with requirements Skills & Experience Required: Strong background in Requirements Engineering or Systems Engineering , ideally in defence, aerospace or other safety-critical domains Hands-on experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG or Rhapsody Understanding of systems design, verification and certification processes Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills Confident communicator, able to convey complex information clearly to varied audiences Self-motivated and delivery-focused with a proactive approach to technical challenges This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Requirements Engineer to contribute to a programme that is defining the future of UK defence technology, working within an organisation renowned for innovation, collaboration and engineering excellence.
