Job Description


The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis – Capital, is responsible for leading a team of analysts focused on the Company’s consolidated capital portfolio, as well as the financials for the Construction, Facilities, and Real Estate teams.  This role is responsible for partnering with business leaders from across the organization in order to develop project-level capital budgets, and the related analysis of ROI expectations.  In addition, the Manager overseas the operating expense budget and forecast for the Construction, Facilities and Real Estate teams.

The position requires extensive experience with capital planning, the ability to develop investment recommendations supported by analysis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly re-prioritize work based on evolving business needs.

Capital and Operating Expense Budget and Forecast

  • Work cross-functionally with business leaders to create the consolidated annual capital budget

  • Partner with Construction and Facilities teams to develop store-level capital plans

  • Coordinate cross-functional FP&A activities to ensure project plans include a holistic view total required spend

  • Partner with Construction and Real Estate teams to develop annual operating expense budgets

  • Proactively manage financial risks and opportunities via the forecast process

Long-term Capital Planning

  • Develop a multi-year capital plan supported by insights gathered from leaders throughout organization, and informed by the Company’s multi-year strategic plan

  • Formulate assumptions on required project spend and timing of related cash flow

  • Link multi-year capital plan into the Company’s long-term financial model

  • Develop and present executive-level scenario analysis in support of long-term strategic discussions

Investment Analysis

  • Develop “hindsight” analysis of selected investments and develop recommendations for improving returns of similar investments in the future

  • Develop ROI analysis of investment proposals, and support developing the related business case

  • Present analysis/recommendations to Finance leadership team

Coaching and Developing:

  • Provide guidance to direct reports and strategically delegate work based on capacity and nature of work

  • Provide regular feedback to direct reports

  • Promote cross functional training opportunities and professional development                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related business field

  • MBA highly preferred

  • 7-10 years of total experience with 3-5 years in areas such as Financial Planning, Corporate Finance, or Investor Relations

  • Experience in retail, consumer products, apparel, or other customer-focused industries a plus

  • Role may require mentorship and/or direct supervision of Financial Analysts or Rotational Program Associates

  • Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment

  • Requires focus amid rapidly shifting priorities, attention to detail, independent problem solving and adherence to tight deadlines when required
