Our organization has an exciting new practice opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in our outpatient clinic in the Lower Hudson Valley area.  We are a non-profit organization that works in providing behavioral health support to a diverse patient population of adults, families, and children.  We have an extremely innovative approach to medicine and are our primary goal is to improve the lives of all of our patients.  We address mental health needs as well as substance abuse and emotional issues.  We have grown exponentially over the past 20 years, and now are offering you an opportunity to join our collaborative team environment.   You would be given 1 hour for an initial psychiatric evaluation visit and roughly 15-20 minute for medication management.  On a typical day you may do 1 evaluation and see around 18 patients per day.  The general diagnosis of the patients can range from anxiety, intermittent deregulation disorder, kids with trauma, ADHD, Schizophrenia, opioids, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders.  What is attractive about our organization is that you can see a wide range of patients across the lifespan.  We offer a very flexible schedule and ideally a 30-35-hour work week for full time including full benefits.  However, we would be open to seeing part time as well.  We offer a very person-centered team approach to treating our patients.  Our organization has a licensed mental health clinic and substance abuse clinic in the same building.  Often times, you will be working closer with the social workers we have on staff and substance abuse counselors.  We have over 100 employees on staff and offer a great work environment and company culture.  We would also offer an in-depth training process for a new graduate.  This opportunity would be 100 % outpatient and you would be working alongside 3 Psychiatrists we have on site and one Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  Myevolve is the EMR system we are currently using, and we take time to teach all of our providers how to use our system correctly.  Our clinic is open from 8:30am to 8:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30- 5:30 on Fridays.  We offer an extremely flexible schedule and we are willing to work with you on hours.  Saturdays hours are also available if desired.  Please see job highlights below.

Responsibilities for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

Performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management
Working closer with Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide care to patients 
Interacting with social workers to provide in depth and accurate therapy sessions 
Documenting all necessary notes in EMR system 
Speaking with patient family members when needed 
Designing in depth treatment protocol and adhering to all organization prescriptive guidelines 
Speaking with team during meetings and discussing complex cases 

Requirements for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

Graduate of accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program
Active DEA or in process 
Board Certified (Preferred) or Board Eligible Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner 
Ability to work accurately and concise
Strong interpersonal skills and must be team oriented 
Preferred Psychiatric RN experience if new graduate 
Suboxone waiver preferred but not required
