Looking for detail- oriented Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Our award winning non- profit organization has been established for over 40 years and serving patients in the community through all walks of life. As the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you would have an opportunity work with patients in our outpatient Article 31 mental health clinic. You would be working with patients mostly ages 25-35 years old suffering from various mental health disorders. This would include Schizophrenia, personality disorder, generalized depression, PTSD, anxiety, and substance abuse. The daily patient volume would be anywhere from 4-7 patients. You would be given over 1 hour for a psychiatric evaluation and a minimum of 30 minutes for medication management. This person would be reporting to the medical director. We have very flexible work hours with no on call and no weekends. We are open to seeing part time or full time(Full time would be preferably.) Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Compensation:130,000-150,000 depending on experience

Benefits: Cigna Health Insurance, 403 B plan, 3 weeks’ vacation, 1 week personal, 10 sick days,10 paid holidays, CME reimbursement

Responsibility for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

- Performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management

- Working closely with Social workers and RN onsite

- Prescribing medication as needed

- Conducting follow up appointments with patients

- Coordinating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy sessions with social workers

- EMR System- ACUMEDIC -Documentation of all notes

- Designing treatment plans and adjusting medication when necessary

- Performing some prior authorizations(Administrator helps with this)

- Referring patients out when needed

Requirements for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

- 1 year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience strongly preferred

- Must be board certified or board eligible Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

- Masters Degree from accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

- Active DEA license and New York state medical license

- Must possess good people skills

- Ability to perform talk therapy strongly preferred
