Job Title: CNC Machine Operator / Setter – Flatbed Router Location: Rochdale Salary: Dependent on experience Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: * Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00 * Friday: 07:00 – 15:00 Company Overview We are a well-established UK manufacturer and supplier of plastic, insulation, and rubber products, serving a wide range of industrial sectors across the UK and beyond. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator/Setter to join our production team at our facility in the North West. Role Overview This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC flatbed routers (with both 2D and 5-axis capabilities). You’ll ensure all components meet precise technical standards while maintaining high productivity and safety levels on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities * Operate and set up CNC flatbed router machines (e.g. SCM, Biesse, Homag) * Program and modify jobs using Xilog software * Perform first-off inspections using various measuring tools * Set up and maintain tooling (length, diameter, sharpening, and replacements) * Machine both simple and complex parts to technical drawings * Trim and deburr finished parts using hand tools * Ensure compliance with industry and/or drawing-specific tolerances * Monitor machine performance and address issues proactively * Handle and recycle material as needed Candidate Requirements * Experience setting and operating CNC flatbed routers (ideally with SCM, Biesse, or Homag) * Strong awareness of health and safety protocols * High attention to detail with good numerical and IT skills * Strong problem-solving and time management skills * Able to work independently and as part of a team * Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred * Willingness to learn and adapt Benefits * Monthly bonus scheme (based on company performance) * Bi-annual performance reviews (with potential salary increases and bonuses) * Company-funded Employee Assistance Programme * Cycle to Work scheme * On-site parking * Additional holiday allowance beyond statutory entitlement * Flexible working options (where feasible) * Enrolment in company pension scheme Apply now to join a forward-thinking, supportive manufacturing team offering long-term career opportunities
