Cyber Security Engineer - Vulnerability Assessment

Job Summary : We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Cyber Security Engineer with 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in security testing, vulnerability assessment, and automation. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in network and system security, be familiar with industry-standard tools, and have the ability to proactively detect and respond to Responsibilities : - Conduct manual and automated security testing across applications, networks, and systems. - Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Black Duck. - Analyze and monitor known vulnerabilities by referencing the CVE database and other security feeds. - Develop and execute test plans and scripts for security automation. - Interpret and report on findings from security assessments, providing clear remediation recommendations. - Collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams to integrate secure coding and infrastructure practices. - Review system and network configurations to identify potential security risks. - Maintain documentation related to assessments, controls, and compliance reports. - Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology developments in the cybersecurity Skills Required : Proficiency in at least two or more security tools from the following : - Nmap, Nessus, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Black Duck, OpenVAS, Metasploit - Strong knowledge of manual security testing techniques. - Hands-on experience with security test automation frameworks and scripting. - Understanding of network protocols and concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, bridging, and firewalling. - Good knowledge of Windows and Linux system and network administration. - Familiarity with CVE tracking, threat intelligence, and mitigation planning. - Ability to interpret and analyze vulnerability scan results and Attributes : - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Curious mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving security issues (ref:hirist.tech)
