OpenBet are looking for a talented JIRA Administrator/Engineer to undertake responsibility for administration, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements to JIRA, Confluence, and integrations with other tools or plugins.

As a JIRA Administrator/Engineer with the OpenBet Team, you’ll have exposure to these systems, as well as extensive training and mentoring as you take our products and your career to the next level.

Responsibilities of JIRA Administrator/Engineer within OpenBet:

  • Create JIRA projects, queries, and reports, as needed.
  • Create custom workflows, post functions, and validators, make changes to workflows, screens, fields, and reporting, and provide ongoing support and configuration maintenance.
  • Develop solutions extending Atlassian REST services and JIRA plugins using the Atlassian SDK. Design and manage JIRA and Confluence queries and dashboards for metrics reporting for various teams.
  • Serve as the JIRA and Atlassian technical resource for migrations to ensure the adoption of development and workflow processes, address user questions, and develop training, as needed.
  • Communicate with the users and stakeholders to understand their use cases and business needs.
  • Extend the functionality of JIRA by utilizing 3rd party add-ons such as Tempo, JIRA MISC Workflow Extension (JMWE), Jira Enterprise Mail Handler (JEMH), Vertygo SLA, JQL Tricks etc.
  • Provide Jira training to users and create and maintain detailed technical and user facing documentation.
  • Utilize Confluence for knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements:


If you are the right JIRA Administrator/Engineer for us you will be able to demonstrate:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or any related degree
  • 3+ years of experience with JIRA or Confluence  
  • Solid understanding of troubleshooting, ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of the latest versions of JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience with the migration of content in similar upgrade.
  • Basic scripting (any language) and Java development experience.
  • Basic understanding of Tomcat Server Configuration/tuning.
  • Basic understanding of Unix/Linux and Postgres db administration.
  • JIRA certifications preferred.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including interacting with senior stakelholders.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong sense of initiative and learning.
