Manager, Regional Market Access (m/f)

Reports to: Associate Director, Market Access

Position Summary

The Regional Market Access Manager assumes responsibility for building relationships at hospital level with pharmacists, medical directors and general managers and at regional level with payers and decision-makers for the right positioning of the orphan drugs.

She/he will provide tools and develop appropriate messages to implement the entire action plan in specific regions (Cataluña, Valencia, Aragón y Baleares) to unblock funding issues in Spain in order to get access to the regions and hospitals and ensure that the products of the company are available to the patients.

 

Principal Responsibilities

Market Access

  • Develop and implement Market Access Plan and Strategy, aligned with the  Cluster Team and ultimately validated by the Head of the Department.
  • Establish strong working relationships in the hospitals with Hospital Pharmacists, Medical Managers, Hospital Managers and other decision makers to reduce funding barriers.
  • Lobby with Regional Health Authorities and Drug Evaluation committees to ensure the access of the patients to the products
  • Gather and generate sufficient evidence to demonstrate value to health technology assessment bodies, payers, and other audiences.
  • Remain up to date regarding the external market access environment.
  • Events management with decision-makers, payers and influencers.

Sales Team Support

  • Participate in the development of the account action plans, together with the other field based positions (Sales Team and Medical Department).
  • Maintain a constant presence on the field interacting with the field staff (Area Managers, Sales team and Medical Department) gathering and sharing relevant information for the development and implementation of the action plans.
  • Be accountable for the execution and follow-up of his/her activities agreed in the action plans

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry in Pharma Affairs (4 years)
  • Knowledge of National Health System and legal aspects
  • Knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulations
  • English knowledge
  • Previous experience in market access mandatory (3 years)
  • Travel 75 % of the time

 

Education

  • Science Degree (Pharmacist, Biologist, Biotechnology...)
  • Preferable Pharmacoeconomics / Health Economics degree
