Job Description

The consultant will work closely with Paani GESI specialist and national consultants to meet the purpose of the study as well as to produce the expected deliverables of the task. 

Overall, the consultant will be responsible to provide technical guidance on GESI assessment processes and reporting working closely with Paani GESI Specialist and national consultants. The specific support activities includes :

  • Refine and finalize  GESI conceptual framework, study methodologies, approaches, research tools and techniques
  • Support Paani analyzing GESI literature review, GESI preliminary findings from watershed profiling and field research findings
  • Review, provide feedback and revise Paani GESI analysis report
  • Produce final draft GESI report with copy editing
  • The consultant may require to support any related tasks assigned by the GESI specialist.

Deliverables with Days of Efforts:

  • Develop better understanding of the scope of work, Paani program objectives and purpose of conducting GESI assessment and expected output (2 days)
  • Written feedback on GESI conceptual framework, study methodologies, approaches, research tools and techniques (3 days)
  • Written feedback on preliminary analysis of literature review, GESI preliminary
    findings from watershed profiling and field research findings (4 days)
  • Written feedback on draft GESI analysis report and action plan (6 days)
  • Copy editing of the final draft GESI analysis report (5 days)

Timeframe / Schedule 

The expected starting date is January 2018 with total number of days of effort is 20 days spread until end of March 2018.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Master degree in gender studies, social science, international development or other relevant field.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in designing and practicing qualitative data collection research, analyzing qualitative data and applying GESI analysis to data collected, with an emphasis on identifying barriers and opportunities for women and marginalized caste/ethnic groups
  • Demonstrated social science research related to natural resources management including water and
    biodiversity with GESI analytical work, highly preferred
  • Extensive working experience in international levels and experience with South Asia region would be an added value
  • At least 8 years work experience in related field  with 5 years on GESI technical expertise
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English .
