We are looking for an Intelligence Specialist ‘Performance & Evaluation’ to join our growing team.

In this global role, you will take IKEA’s way of measuring performance through the eyes of consumers to the next level. You will lead the transformation from existing, research-heavy methodologies into new, dynamic approaches that allow for continuous and actionable consumer insight. You will get a chance to impact IKEA’s product and customer touchpoint development. You will be part of and contribute to the deliverables of IKEA’s Performance and Evaluation team.

More specifically we are looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant experience in the fields of customer experience, brand building, or product range development.
  • Gets energy from analysing how consumers interact and evaluate brands and products and from making actionable recommendations to the business.
  • Enjoys designing new research methods and tools that enable better understanding of a brand’s or product’s strengths and weaknesses.
  • Has experience with developing and running performance methods and tools, for example brand/product perception measurement, pricing research, external and consumer-based performance tracking.
  • Has experience with concept and product testing.
  • Has worked with both quantitative (trackers, social media data, ratings & reviews, etc.) and qualitative (consumer communities, home visits, etc.) methods and tools.
  • Has a genuine interest for understanding the needs and desires of people across the world and how to improve their life at home.
  • Shares the IKEA values, which are at the core of everything we do.

  • Has a desire for continuous learning and self-improvement.
  • Is eager to take initiative and responsibility with the ability to prioritise.

Your core responsibilities:

  • Develop new methodologies and tools for the measurement of IKEA’s performance through the eyes of the consumer from two angles: consumer perception and in-reality behaviour.
  • Design, develop, pilot and validate new and innovative ways of measuring consumers’ feedback to IKEA: throughout their customer experience, expectations and usage of IKEA products.
  • Identify and roll out the most effective and efficient methodologies to meet the intelligence needs of development teams at IKEA: both teams working on product development and material innovation, as well as the development of new ways of meeting our customers (touchpoints).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and select and brief external research partners to guarantee the best quality sourcing of data and knowledge.
  • Explore latest thinking and methodologies available for research and translate them to the IKEA context.

Essential qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years working experience in the field of consumer or market intelligence, insight, or research in a manufacturer or retailer environment.
  • Deep knowledge of consumer insight, business performance and consumer testing methodologies.
  • An analytical mind and passion for consumer and business insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to form strong professional interdependent working relationships in and outside IKEA.
  • Bachelors or Master's degree with research experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Your next challenge?

This is a full time position for 40 hour per week, based in Delft (Netherlands) or Almhult (Sweden) with the requirement for regular travel (ca. 20%). You will report to the Intelligence Leader ‘Performance & Evaluation’ at Inter IKEA Systems.
