Job Description

Support process computing hardware and applications as needed.  This can include HMIs, programmable drives, smart instrumentation, SCADA software, process computers, PLCs, network, infrastructure, PCs, telecomm and application software.

Assist in the troubleshooting of process outages to minimize downtime and return to production ASAP as needed.

Implement minor changes and standard procedures wherever necessary in process computing application code. 

Make all necessary changes to prints and/or process documentation after any modification to process computing code.


Work with the maintenance engineers or engineering contractors to assist whenever necessary in instrumentation or wiring changes.  Work to ensure safety and Alcoa Engineering standards compliance.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

The applicant must demonstrate capabilities in the areas of requirements gathering, analysis, design, system development, and life-cycle methodologies. Hands-on experience in one or more of the following is required: programming, networking, security, operating systems, business intelligence/analytics technologies, Internet technologies, relational database technologies. Must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
Associates Degree and 6 years relevant experience required.  Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of  2 years in diverse technical role preferred.
 

Preferred qualifications include Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of  2 years in diverse technical role preferred, working knowledge of SQL MSDevelopment Tools, Visual Studio, PYTHON, Powershell, experience with various interface messaging standards (OPC, XML), mobile device management and development, and familiarity with TCP/IP and network programming.  Also a proven ability to manage projects and prioritize competing requirements in a fast-paced environment, experience in problem-solving situations and the desire to create innovative solutions, strong commitment to quality, architecture and documentation, ability
to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external), proactive and willing to take ownership.
