Capacity Building and Training Advisor is expected to lead capacity building initiatives under the program in close cooperation with component Advisors and also provide support to program stakeholders to
increase their capacity to effectively design, develop, deliver, and evaluate WASH trainings. This is a demanding role that requires a creative, motivated, and enthusiastic individual who wants to contribute to building them capacity of WASH professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track
record of designing courses for adults, with a focus on content for National audiences, as well as extensive experience developing and delivering workshops or modules for participants from low-income communities. 

Key Responsibilities

Advisory services

  • Support the design, development, evaluation, and improvement of training materials.

  • Develop training programs and modules for effective knowledge transfer that results in
    action leading to safe water and sanitation.

  • Develop (digital) learning tools suitable for clients in low-income countries.

  • Train partners, clients and staff using a variety of methods including workshops,
    mentoring, peer support, and apprenticeship to effectively:

    • deliver workshops on WASH

    • design workshops on WASH

    • adapt or customize content for a specific client context

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of capacity building initiatives, identifying areas for
    continuous improvement

Quality assurance & Knowledge Development
  • Align with knowledge deliverables and quality standards,

  • Ensure implementation of SNV’s monitoring for results framework,

  • Identify and explore replication of good practices,

  • Conduct comparative studies and facilitate horizontal learning to improve practice and
    guidelines,

  • Coach, guide and backstop project teams in implementation,

  • Promote knowledge exchange and networking with other SNV regions and externally.


Co-ordination & Programme Management
  • Ensure performance of component, corresponding to plans and targets,

  • Facilitate and coordinate interaction with other sector stakeholders,

  • Contribute to the SNV WASH knowledge activities.

  • Establish and maintain linkage with national and international knowledge centres.

  • Take part in national and regional events as appropriate,

  • Support content development for external communications.

  • Contribute to managing and implementing partnerships.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Masters in instructional design, education, adult education, social science  or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing capacity building interventions with at
    least  5 years’ experience in sanitation

  • Strong interest in developing modules for bottom of the pyramid populations.

  • Proven track record on at least one of the following areas: capacity building,
    participatory training, curriculum development, effective facilitation skills,
    mentoring and coaching.

  • Creative, practical and systematic professional

  • Evidence of producing knowledge products (publications and other).

  • Flexibility to handle varied and demanding tasks and ability to balance priorities, thrive
    under pressure and juggle a multitude of details in a fast-paced environment

  • Significant experience in developing and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
    directly delivering change.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as member of a team, and to be flexible to
    accommodate the needs of stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead the assignment and the team with remote supervision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Bangla.



Additional Information

Duty station:                     Khulna with frequent travel to other program areas

Contract Duration:            This is a fixed term position for 3 years.

Expected Joining Date:     As soon as possible latest by 1st March 2018

Working Hours:                Full time (minimum of 40 hours per week)
